QuantMig at the International Population Conference 2021
The QuantMig project had strong presence at the hybrid International Population Conference 2021 organised by the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP).
We had a dedicated sponsored Research Leader session 111 "Quantifying Uncertain Migration Scenarios" on Wednesday, 8 December 2021, at 12:00 GMT, chaired by Jakub Bijak, with eight short talks presenting different aspects of the project findings so far, including insights from various work packages, including those on migration concepts, drivers, data and scenarios. Video recordings of presentations from this session are available on our website.
In addition, our virtual "exhibition booth" was open daily throughout the whole conference, on 6 - 10 December 2021. Everyone was warmly welcome to drop by for a chat with our project partners from Population Europe. Conference participants could join the chat by visiting the "Exhibit Hall" on the conference platform.
Finally, on Thursday, 9 December at 13:00 GMT, two project partners - University of Southampton and Population Europe - invited everyone interested for a book launch of a new monograph on "Towards Bayesian Model-based Demography", resulting from the partner project BAPS - Bayesian Agent-Based Population Studies.
We look forward to seeing you virtually at the next IPC!
