High-Level Expert Meeting “Uncertainty in Migration Scenarios through Economic Perspectives”
On 27 January 2022, the QuantMig project organised the second High-Level Expert Meeting on “Uncertainty in Migration Scenarios through Economic Perspectives”, hosting a range of eminent participants from many international organisations and academic institutions around the world. The aims of the meeting were to showcase some of the work carried out in QuantMig, both microeconomic, on migration decisions under uncertainty, as well as macroeconomic, on uncertainty in forecasting and scenario-setting, and to discuss the main challenges to studying the migration processes, their drivers and consequences, from an economic perspective, and to identify the key knowledge gaps and suggest possible ways of filling them. The discussion held during the meeting, as well as the main recommendations, are summarised in the Population Europe Policy Brief No. 35.
