White Paper on Migration Uncertainty: Towards Foresight and Preparedness
Population Europe have published a Discussion Paper No 19 entitled "White Paper on Migration Uncertainty: Towards Foresight and Preparedness" written by Jakub Bijak, Daniela Vono de Vilhena and Michaela Potancokova, with contributions from the whole QuantMig Team. The White Paper is available on the website of Population Europe.
In the White Paper, we present the main results and policy recommendations from the QuantMig project as follows, with focus on the uncertainty and complexity of migration processes and the project’s main conclusions and recommendations, including for policy makers.
In successive sections of the White Paper, we assess selected theoretical approaches for explaining migration, review migration drivers in the origin, destination and transit countries, evaluate data and migration measurements for scenario-building on future migration, including our own data estimates, and present ways to inform and construct migration scenarios. The White Paper is intended as a one-stop summary of the key project results, and more detailed, specific and technical information is available from the project deliverables accessible from our website.
